We have a vision for Las Vegas
Our Vision
The Girls’ Room Las Vegas is a holistic, gender-specific after-school program designed for high school girls ages 15–19 in East Las Vegas. Rooted in sisterhood and empowerment, the program focuses on preventing teenage pregnancy and promoting sexual health through access to comprehensive sex education. We meet weekly on Tuesdays from 3–5 PM for a 26-week (8-month) cycle that includes Level 1 and Level 2 of the Safer Choices: Preventing HIV, STD, and Pregnancy curriculum. Each cohort is limited to 15 young women who are committed to growth, service, and community. To be eligible, applicants must be enrolled in high school (grades 9–12), not be deemed chronically absent, have reliable transportation to and from sessions, and be able to meet at least half of the program hours to remain in good standing. Participants engage in real conversations, activities, service projects, and mentorship while developing life skills, emotional resilience, and leadership. With limited spots available, The Girls’ Room offers a safe haven where sisterhood meets life-changing readiness.
Our Motto: "Where sisterhood meets life-changing readiness." Our overarching mission is to foster an environment where young women not only gain a comprehensive understanding of sexual health but also develop a strong sense of self-awareness and resilience. By providing them with the necessary tools and support, we aim to cultivate a generation of empowered individuals who confidently embrace their womanhood and chart their own paths towards personal fulfillment and success in every facet of their lives.
Extended Vision
The Girls’ Room was inspired by the real, unfiltered conversations that happen in the girls' bathroom where truth, vulnerability, and connection naturally emerge. We’ve transformed that spirit into a structured, supportive space for healing, learning, and transformation.
At The Girls’ Room Las Vegas, our vision is to transform the lives of young women across East Las Vegas by breaking the cycles of poverty and inequity that hold too many back. With increased funding and community support, we aim to expand our proven programs to serve more girls, deepen our impact through additional mentors, and build stronger partnerships with local schools to reach teens earlier and more effectively. By creating meaningful after-school employment opportunities, offering more scholarships, and providing specialized support for teen mothers, we are committed to equipping participants not only with vital knowledge but with real-world skills, confidence, and resources to build lasting stability and success.
This vision is about more than education, it’s about empowerment, opportunity, and creating a movement where sisterhood meets life-changing readiness. With your support, we will grow our reach and resources to transform generations of young women into leaders who confidently shape their futures and uplift their communities.
