Meet Our Founder

Nayda Peace

Ms. Nayda Peace is a dedicated educator, advocate, and leader committed to ensuring educational equity for all students. Born and raised in San Francisco, California, Ms. Peace graduated as valedictorian of her high school in 2011. She is a proud S.F. 49ers fan! She went on to earn her bachelor’s degree from the University of California, Davis, and later obtained a Master’s Degree in Curriculum and Instruction from the University of Nevada, Las Vegas. She is currently pursuing her doctoral degree in education.

A proud alumna of Teach For America (TFA), Ms. Peace began her career in education through the TFA program and has continued to make a lasting impact in the field. In 2021, she was selected as the TFA Induction Speaker and now serves as an ambassador for TFA Las Vegas. Her commitment to excellence and equity in education has been recognized nationally as she was honored by the NFL and CBS’s The Talk as an Unsung Hero and named one of Nevada’s top educators.

Now in her seventh year as an educator, she currently teachers at SLAM! Nevada.  Ms. Peace also founded The Girls Room, a nonprofit organization dedicated to empowering and uplifting young women by providing safe, affirming spaces for leadership, mentorship, and personal growth. Outside of her professional and advocacy work, Ms. Peace finds joy in spending quality time with her daughter.
